Every time you scroll through social media or turn on the news, it seems like there's another heartbreaking story—another life turned upside down by ICE.
A lawful permanent resident, wrongfully deported without due process.
A U.S. citizen, mistakenly sent to a country they’ve never even visited.
A person grabbed off the street, only to resurface months later in a foreign country where they have no ties, no family, no home.
These stories are not rare. They’re becoming disturbingly common.
We’ve been told we have rights:
The right to remain silent
The right to an attorney
The right to demand a signed judicial warrant before ICE enters our homes
And yet, day after day, we see those rights ignored.
People are being deported without ever stepping foot in a courtroom.
ICE agents are forcing their way into homes—often without judicial warrants.
Requests for legal counsel are brushed aside.
So, why are people afraid of ICE? Because they have every reason to be.
The rule of law seems to vanish when ICE is involved. The idea of getting a fair hearing or legal representation is no longer a given. And when that happens, no one is safe.
If you’re scared, you’re not alone—and you’re not helpless.
Here Are 3 Steps You Can Take Today to Protect Yourself and Your Loved Ones:
Retain an Immigration Attorney in Advance - Don’t wait until it’s too late. Having a lawyer ready to advocate for you can make all the difference in an emergency.
Appoint a Power of Attorney - Choose someone you trust to manage your finances and assets if something unexpected happens to you.
Designate a Legal Guardian for Your Children - If you’re a parent, this is critical. Ensure your children are cared for by someone you trust if you’re ever detained or deported.
These steps won’t erase the fear—but they can give you back a sense of control in an unpredictable system.
